Once upon a time, at a tech company far, far away… Katie and James met while working at Airtable. Some of you may know it; others might think they manufacture air hockey tables—we’ll let your imagination decide.

They were on the same team, with desks kitty-corner from each other. It didn’t take long for James to develop a quiet crush, drawn in by their shared love of music and Katie’s quick wit. He managed to keep it under wraps… for a while.

That is, until the company announced its annual offsite in the ever-romantic city of San Francisco. Little did James know, this trip would reveal his secret faster than a Chargers playoff exit.

During one of their usual office chats—filled with just enough not-so-subtle flirtation—Katie suggested flying out early to attend a music festival called Outside Lands. James didn’t hesitate, and they quickly made plans alongside coworkers Kate and Turner.

Fast forward a couple of months to the week before the festival: both friends had to back out (a twist of fate we’re very thankful for), leaving Katie and James to go just the two of them.

When the day finally arrived, they met at the airport, grabbed a few drinks, and headed into the festival. After a full day of trading hints back and forth, it all came together as they danced the night away to one of their favorite artists, Post Malone—officially kicking off their not-so-secret office romance.
