Our Wedding

Once upon a time, at a tech company far, far away… Katie and James met while working at Airtable. Some of you may know it; others might think they manufacture air hockey tables—we’ll let your imagination decide. They were on the same team, with desks kitty-corner from each other. It didn’t take long for James to develop a quiet crush, drawn in by their shared love of music and Katie’s quick wit. He managed to keep it under wraps… for a while. That is, until the company announced its annual offsite in the ever-romantic city of San Francisco. Little did James know, this trip would reveal his secret faster than a Chargers playoff exit. During one of their usual office chats—filled with just enough not-so-subtle flirtation—Katie suggested flying out early to attend a music festival called Outside Lands. James didn’t hesitate, and they quickly made plans alongside coworkers Kate and Turner. Fast forward a couple of months to the week before the festival: both friends had to back out (a twist of fate we’re very thankful for), leaving Katie and James to go just the two of them. When the day finally arrived, they met at the airport, grabbed a few drinks, and headed into the festival. After a full day of trading hints back and forth, it all came together as they danced the night away to one of their favorite artists, Post Malone—officially kicking off their not-so-secret office romance. The rest is history.

Many of our guests are coming from out of town, so we’ve put together some of our favorite spots and activities. Austin restaurants and experiences can fill up quickly, so we recommend making dinner or reservation-based plans in advance whenever possible. Outdoor Fun &amp; ActivitiesBarton Springs – Take a dip in this iconic natural spring for a quintessential Austin experience. Zilker Park - massive park in the middle of the city, great view of the cityscape, and lots of dogs to pet! Lady Bird Lake – Perfect for a walk or paddleboarding. Our hotel is just steps away, making it easy to explore the trails. Pedestrian Bridge – A great spot for a stroll and a photo; this is where we got engaged! Comedy Mothership - World famous comedy club that hosts headlining acts every day of the week (recommend getting tickets ASAP, shows usually sell out a couple weeks in advance) Coffee &amp; Morning SpotsDesnudo Coffee – Our personal favorite; the coffee truck is right across from The LINE. Cosmic Coffee East - Amazing coffee shop with breakfast food on the east side. Medici Roasting – Classic Austin coffee vibes. Merit Coffee – Great for a quick pick-me-up. Veracruz All Natural Tacos – Perfect for a casual breakfast or snack without leaving the hotel. Dining RecommendationsTerry Blacks - world famous Texas BBQ. Block your calendar for a couple hours after you eat... zzz Suerte – Modern Mexican cuisine; reservations recommended. Aba – Mediterranean-inspired dishes; make a reservation to secure a spot. Loro – Asian smokehouse; no reservation needed. NADC Burger – Casual, delicious burgers for a quick bite. Canje – Caribbean-inspired cuisine; reservations recommended. Matt’s El Rancho – Ideal for large groups, no reservations required. Order the Knockout martini (1 is all you need, 2 if you've had a bad week). Bouldin Acres - Fun outdoor sports bar to watch games, or eat at an incredible food truck (Get the crunchwrap, trust us). They also have pickle ball courts if you're into some friendly competition. 7grand - James' favorite bar in Austin. Dimly lit, pool tables, and any bourbon you can think of! Las Perlas - Katie's favorite bar in Austin. Tequila tequila tequila, right next door from 7grand. ;) They share a back patio, his &amp; hers style. Pete's Piano bar - Classic dual piano bar on Dirty 6th. $10 cover but immaculate vibes and cheap drinks.
